Tailorbird After School Sewing Classes

Our After-School Sewing Program is designed for kids ages 9-14 who love to create with their hands. In this small-group class, students will learn foundational sewing skills while making fun and useful projects. Each session helps build creativity, patience, and confidence as students bring their ideas to life through sewing.

• Basic sewing terminology and techniques
• How to properly thread and use a sewing machine
• Simple machine stitching and seam finishes
• Basic hand-sewing skills
• Custom name embroidery

Fun Sewing Projects

Projects may vary each session, and one main project will be completed over four classes. You can see the project we will be making when you sign up.

Possible projects include:

• Tote bags
• Drawstring bags
• Fabric baskets
• Scrunchies
• Bookmarks
• Zipper pouches

*Limited to only 4 students per class for personalized instruction. Each student will have their own sewing machine provided by the studio to use during class

*Our tailoring and alteration services will be closed during class time so we can focus fully on teaching the students.



Class Cancellation Policy

Registration & Payment
Full payment is required to reserve your spot in the class. Due to the small class size, spaces are limited and fill quickly.

Cancellation by Student/Parent
If you need to cancel your registration, please notify us as soon as possible.

  • 14 days or more before the first class: Full refund minus processing fee of 10%

  • Less than 14 days before the first class: No refund, but studio credit may be issued if we are able to fill the spot.

  • After the session has started: No refunds or credits.

Missed Classes
Because each class builds on the previous lesson and space is limited, make-up classes are not guaranteed for missed sessions.

Studio Cancellation
If the studio must cancel a class due to illness, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued or a make-up class may be scheduled.
